The XBOX Game Showcase opens with a bang: after Gears of War: E-Day it is the turn of Fable by Playground Games, which is shown in a splendid trailer that begins with a monologue by the game's villain, Isabel, played by actress Hayley Atwell, and then closes with the announcement of the release date: February 23, 2027.

Isabel is the heroine of the Wraith Swamp; A former student of Guildmaster Humphry the Golden, Isabel has a turbulent past, and her obsession with righting Albion's wrongs has led her to darkness. In her unyielding vision, Albion doesn't need heroes, only her. However, Isabel is not the only threat we will have to face: the trailer has in fact confirmed the return of the legendary Jack of Blades, one of the most iconic characters of the original Fable, whose role in the new Albion we can't wait to find out.

Alongside the darker elements, the touches of lightness that characterized the series could not be missing. The Devil's Gates make their triumphant return: these rather outspoken guardians are a beloved presence in the original games and Playground Games, as a huge fan of the series, could not make the game without them. Behind one of these doors, eagle-eyed players will be able to face an enemy so ancient and iconic that no heroic feat would be complete without it: the chicken-kicking minigame!
