Studio MDHR, author of Cuphead, brought a big surprise on the occasion of the Summer Game Fest: the studio has in fact unveiled two important news related to their franchise, confirming the start of work on a new main chapter for now untitled and announcing, Mighty Cuphead Adventure, an unpublished project with unique characteristics.

Mighty Cuphead Adventure is an 8-bit-style action-platformer developed in secret by a small team within the studio. The peculiarity of this game lies not only in the inspiration from the classics of the eighties, but in the actual technology used to create it: the software is in fact programmed in classic Assembly language and designed respecting the exact specifications of the Sega Master System console. Although it is fully compatible with XBOX and PC, for a real blast from the past it will still be possible to buy it also on an original physical cartridge for the historic Sega console.

In parallel with this retrospective, it has been confirmed that work has officially begun on a brand new Cuphead main game. This ambitious project, still in its early stages, will be entirely hand-animated and will take the characters we are fond of on a fresh and unprecedented adventure.
