Xbox revamps achievements: 100% new look, animations and game highlighting

The Xbox Achievements system is about to receive a substantial update that will change its aesthetics and functionality, thanks to an initiative announced by the new CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Asha Sharma, related to listening more to fan feedback. The announced innovations are already being tested starting today for some members of the Insider program.

Microsoft has in fact made a review of how Xbox Achievements look and feel. Among the main new features stands out a visual revamp that introduces new animations and updated icons for classic and rare achievements. In addition, the on-screen notifications will adapt to the custom color we have chosen for our profile, a feature that we had already glimpsed in a previous update.

However, the additions are not limited to the aesthetic side alone. We will finally have the ability to hide the games we want from our Achievements history. It should be noted that this option will only change the visual aspect of our profile, without affecting in any way the total of the Gamerscore that we have accumulated. It will also be possible to highlight the games that we have completed 100%, also being able to count on new filtering options to better manage and view our virtual bulletin board.

All this package of news comes about a month after the last features tested by Xbox Insiders, which had allowed us to preview highly requested options such as the deactivation of the Quick Resume for specific games, custom colors and groups in the home.

At this time, these enhancements are only available to a select group of testers, who can put them through their paces right away. Access to this update will gradually expand over time to other Insiders, and then soon reach all users of the ecosystem.
