Bandai Namco today announced the development of Sword Art Online: Last Recollection, a new JRPG with anime-style graphics that will see us live a new Kirito story that will take a different path than the original work, defined as "an unpredictable turning point from the Underworld War arc".

Coming in 2023, Sword Art Online: Last Recollection will follow Kirito as he prepares to face a never-before-seen challenge. The gate with the Dark Territory is wide open, ready to release all his terror on the Human Kingdom, when a mysterious Dark Knight, named Dorothy, arrives with a mission for Kirito and his friends. They will have to fight once again to protect this world.

The game will retain the series' celebrated JRPG style, increasing the speed of action and ensuring smoother coordination when playing with friends. Here is the announcement trailer and a set of images.
