The remake of Dead Space is shown on video and illustrates the improvements to the gameplay

EA Motive has finally revealed today the gameplay of Dead Space, a remake of the classic sci-fi horror title coming on January 27 on next-generation consoles. The movie shows us numerous game and combat sequences, highlighting the graphic improvements but not only.

The title has in fact received a number of gameplay improvements, including:

  • The Peeling System: Necromorphs, monsters never seen before, have been rebuilt around the new Peeling System, which introduces flesh, tendons and layered bones that break, tear and shatter in new and upsetting ways. Although strategy is key, players will also have more opportunities for creativity in using the variety of unique weapons and abilities to fight these horrible enemies.
  • The Intensity Director: The beautifully crafted and equally disturbing world of Dead Space has long been a place where players were easily lost, but now players will really feel the weight of every mysterious step Isaac takes. The new Intensity Director dynamically adjusts what comes in Isaac's path, from the Necromorph spawns and the way you choose to attach them, to environmental effects such as light, smoke, particles and sounds. Isaac's heartbeat, breathing, and efforts also adjust to his stress level, to provide players with direct feedback on his mental, emotional, and physical state.
  • An enhanced engineering fantasy: without weapons or reinforcements, Isaac is forced to defend himself from the Necromorphs by exploiting high-tech mining tools to dismember nightmarish creatures, solve puzzles on his exciting journey and exploit the malfunctioning systems of the Ishimura to his advantage. Originally a silent protagonist, players will now be able to hear the beloved engineer through new narrative enrichments voiced by Gunner Wright, isaac's original voice in Dead Space 2 (2011) and Dead Space 3 (2013).
  • A fully interconnected Ishimura: From the home screen to the end credits, players will face the frighteningly narrow corridors and shadowed corridors of the USG Ishimura without a single loading screen or camera cut interrupting the dive. This huge spaceship has been restored for remake with new rooms, paths, and obstacles, while allowing for seamless exploration thanks to new UI map controls and an improved locator.

Staying true to the exciting vision of the original game, Dead Space has been completely rebuilt from the ground up with the Frostbite game engine, offers improved audio, crisp graphics that have been carefully reimagined to evoke a new level of immersion and quality. Players will find that this time there is much more to learn aboard the USG Ishimura and will relive the story with new narrative elements. The spaceship will question its own sanity as players delve into it and begin to uncover its secrets, fighting for their survival with monstrous terrors lurking at every corner.

Dead Space puts players in the shoes of Isaac Clarke, an engineer on a routine mission to repair a large spaceship, the USG Ishimura. But aboard the Ishimura, a living nightmare awaits us. The spaceship's crew was slaughtered and infected, and Isaac's girlfriend, Nicole, disappeared somewhere on board. Alone and trapped, with only his tools and skills as an engineer, Isaac must face a battle for survival, not only against the terrifying monsters called Necromorphs, but also against his own crumbling sanity.

We leave you to the movie, good vision!
