The Antarctic adventure South of the Circle arrives on August 3; details and trailer

11 Bit Studios announced today that South of the Circle, a narrative adventure inspired by titles such as Firewatch and What Remains of Edith Finch already released on Apple Arcade, will arrive on our consoles on August 3rd. Here are the official details about the game, along with a trailer and some images.

South of the Circle is an emotionally charged narrative experience with a cinematic story that unfolds on multiple levels. The main line of the plot questions the consequences of the choices, between career and true love, moving between present and past. You play as Peter, a Cambridge scholar who finds himself in Antarctica during the Cold War after a makeshift landing. As he goes in search of help we will also discover his past, which will reveal how the pressures and aspirations have led him into this tragic situation from which he must escape. A love story will be born between him and his colleague Clara and Peter will discover the importance of the promises made. Like childhood memories, there are promises that never leave us.

Created by BAFTA-winning developer State of Play, the game's stunning aesthetics and nuanced storyline highlight its cinematic nature, further enhanced by actors from "Bohemian Rhapsody" (Gwilym Lee), "The Woman in White" (Olivia Vinall), "The Crown" (Richard Goulding), "Game of Thrones" (Anton Lesser Lesser), "Chernobyl" (Adrian Rawlins) and "Downton Abbey" (Michael Fox).
