The Lord of the Rings: Gollum arrives on September 1, new images

Nacon today announced that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Daedalic Entertainment's new narrative adventure set in the world of The Lord of the Rings, will arrive on our consoles on September 1st. For the occasion, the publisher has released a series of new in-game shots of the game; here they are below, along with the official information on the title.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an action-adventure game with a story. Embark on a risky journey as Gollum, chasing his treasure. Gollum is skillful and cunning, but divided by a dual personality. One mind, but two egos... you decide!

Athletic and agile, as well as shrewd and stealthy. Driven by the desire to hold in his hands once again what he has lost, Gollum is one of the most fascinating characters in the world of The Lord of the Rings.

He has seen things that no one could even imagine and has survived things that no one would dare to name. Divided by his dual personality, he can be as cruel and evil as Gollum, as he is as cautious and sociable as Sméagol.

While vital to J. R. R. Tolkien's story, many parts of Gollum's mission have not yet been told in detail. But now you can live his story with The Lord of the Rings™: Gollum™. From his time as a slave under the Dark Tower to his stay with the Elves of Bosco Atro.

Use its stealth, agility and cunning to survive and face what lies ahead. Climb, jump and cling to overcome any dangers or reach advantageous points.

Even if Gollum is not really a warrior, he will not hesitate to kill an unsuspecting enemy when the opportunity arises, or to get rid of him in the most creative and evil ways.

The decisions you make and the way you play will directly affect Gollum's personality: being always struggling with his dual identity of Gollum and Sméagol, it's up to you to decide whether to leave the upper hand to gollum's dark side or if there is still a glimmer of reason in what was once Sméagol. One mind, but two personalities... you decide!
