The developers of Volition have announced, a few months after the revelation of the game, that the development of Saints Row takes longer than expected due to the working conditions derived from the ongoing pandemic, thus revealing that the title will no longer arrive as planned at the end of February but has been postponed to August 23.

The developers explain that the game is practically complete from the point of view of gameplay and content, but that further refinements and bug fixing are needed to bring it up to the expectations of the fans. We will therefore have to wait six more months to be able to play this interesting reboot of the famous open world franchise!
