Trion Worlds has announced that Defiance , a title that combines the mechanics of a third person shooter in a persistent online world where thousands of players can live together and cooperate, it could become a game free-to-play. Details about the eventual release date of the product will be disseminated as soon as it will clarify some points about the new edition. Players who download the title with the new system will be able to experience the entire plot of the game and various contents which were introduced later as a completely free.

The Publisher declares that, until the game is not adopting the new system, Xbox 360 owners will be able to buy Defiance as a canned or downloadable game benefitting from, in this case, of a contribution of 1,000 Arkforge that is the currency to spend on upgrades of weapons and other bonuses like the 10% discount for the content present in the store.
