During a recent interview, the producer of Resident Evil: Raccoon City Operation Masachika Kawata said that the next game in the Resident Evil series, now known simply as Resident Evil 6, deviates markedly in terms of gameplay, the titles of the series main.

The producer added that the sixth episode will be a real turning point for the horrific saga of Capcom, while not forgetting all the episodes released so far. Kawata finally concluded by explaining that it could not say whether the game will belong to the shooter or survival horror genre, saying only that it will be something totally new.

We just have to wait for further news on that could probably come in September, at the TGS 2011. In the meantime we just have to see how it will spin-off Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, voted primarily for multiplayer and separated from the main series.
