Phil Spencer: Xbox will do great things at E3, Rare works on a new game

In recent days the head of Microsoft's gaming section Phil Spencer has been a guest of Major Nelson's podcast for a chat about Microsoft's future plans, from which some interesting information has emerged. First of all, Spencer made it clear that Microsoft's focus now is on creating new titles, with CEO Satya Nadella very satisfied with the current situation of internal studies.

In this regard, Spencer has confirmed a rumor that was already circulating for some time: Rare is working on a new game. The manager explained, "I saw the new project of Playground [un RPG che molti pensano essere il nuovo Fable, ndt] , I saw the new project of Rare, and their persistent success with Sea of Thieves", talking about a new project of the British study. With regard to the success of Sea of Thieves he was probably referring to the great boom of interest that the title is having on Twitch, with a strong increase in streamers and viewers, with prominent personalities from the service who started Transmit playing sessions with a certain frequency in their Piratean title.

Spencer then went on to talk about the upcoming E3, explaining that his team discussed whether, given Sony's absence, this year they should have a more conservative approach and save some budget. The decision was made, however, that no, regardless of what would have made the competition Microsoft would have had a presence as large as in the past, showing the future of Xbox with effectiveness and enthusiasm to fans. Some decisions have yet to be taken, for example if you show games that will come out in a long time, but for sure Xbox won't be an event lower than those seen in the past.

And in relation to the next games, we close the news with an interesting rumor emerged in the last hours: according to the always well-informed Jez Corden of Windowscentral, Ninja Theory will reveal his next project this year, maybe at E3. So we'll start to see the very first fruits of Microsoft's acquisitions.

Stay tuned for more information on the future of Xbox!
