Remember that a few days ago the insider and journalist Jez Corden had hinted to broken records by Sea of Thieves ? Today, Microsoft revealed what it is: the Rare title was attended by two million players in the first week of play, becoming also the best selling new IP of this generation (but is likely to be on Sun new Microsoft IP) in the week of launch.

And if the large number of players could be justified by many who play through Xbox Game Pass and maybe even in digital share, for this second figure is particularly surprising because it refers only to the Digital sales and retail: This means that many players have still preferred to buy it rather than take advantage of the mechanism of the Pass.

The House of Redmond has also rattled off other numbers for this first week of the game: more than 100,000 players have shown live their games, generating over 10 million hours of gameplay followed by spectators and bringing the title at the top of the charts of the most popular games on Twitch and Mixer.

The game has also raised over half a million new friends on Xbox Live , and more than 400,000 players joined a Club Xbox to find other pirates with whom have fun.
