Digital Foundry analyzes Quantum Break on Xbox One X and compares it to the standard console

The famous videogame technical analysis Digital Foundry has got their hands on a version not yet final by Quantum Break for Xbox One X , so being able to analyze the characteristics and producing a video that makes it comparison with the version of the game run on Xbox One S.

DF technicians have thus pointed out, as we had anticipated in the console test at Gamescom, that the game uses the rendering technique known as " temporal reconstruction " to deliver the 4 k image from an internal rendering 1440p. This is a special type of "intelligent upscaling" used also by other evidence that the benefits of showing an image very close to the target resolution, but leave several imperfections and screen overlays. If you consider that, on Xbox One base, the game renders natively at 720 p using the temporal reconstruction to bring the picture to 1080, the result obtained on Xbox One X is coherent with the game engine optimization level.

DF has identified the presence of an additional graphics mode, namely the ability to render natively at 1080 p, thus obtaining an image of lower resolution but no artifacts present in that 4 k. From a performance perspective, also, the game is about 30 fps with drops in a few frames, imperceptible to the naked eye, on several occasions; 1080 p mode is proving more stable from this point of view.

In addition to this, DF detects a greater quality of textures, now brought to the 4 k, better texture filtering and deleting the filter "grain" that made the dirtiest and film image Xbox One; This was possibly removed to highlight more demo time cleaning the title graphics on the new console, but could be reintroduced before the release of Xbox One X.

We leave you now to your movie, thanks to a series of comparison shows us how your new console game gains greatly in image quality and sharpness than the version for the console base. Good vision!
