Star Wars: Battlefront II will support 4 k and FreeSync on Xbox One X

Despite the release of Star Wars: Battlefront II is expected in two months, SAYS has so far been silent about the support for Xbox One X from the game. This is due to the fact that EA has a co-marketing agreement with Sony for the game, and the Japanese won't of course that at the level of communication, it is said that the title will be better on the console.

Despite this, however, we learn first details about support Xbox One X directly from the page of the game in the console Games Store; the specifications have been recently updated, as you can see in the picture below, with the addition of heading 4 k and VRR .

4 k voice leaves little room for imagination and shows us that the game will be rendered in UltraHD resolution, thus making the picture sharper and clean. VRR instead refers to the technology Variable Refresh Rate, which we talked about in April and that includes FreeSync standards of AMD and HDMI 2.1 dynamic frame-rate . In fact, using the game on Xbox One X with a PC monitor that supports FreeSync (the first TV with HDMI support 2.1 will arrive only next year), any drop in framerate will be automatically synced with your refresh the screen so not to be annoying nor visible, so keep the gaming experience is completely seamless.

This means, however, that, at least to 4 k, some drop in frame-the extent of which is clearly to be evaluated-is expected, but there were also occasional declines in the first game after all, nevertheless turned to 720 p on Xbox One; the Frostbite Engine has been greatly optimized since then but is still a very heavy engine that also with Battlefield 1 changes dynamically resolving between the 900p and the 720 p to maintain a high frame rate, so it's not inconceivable that, to maintain 4 k resolution on Xbox One X, is forced to some drop frames in the scene.

It is, of course, to see how the game will handle the performance on the screens that do not have the VRR: is most likely there, to maintain a high framerate, you use dynamic resolution as did with Battlefield 1 , or that you provide to multiple viewing modes players who prefer resolution, graphics or performance. We look forward to TELLING about declarations.
