Mike Pondsmith: Cyberpunk 2077 will have all classes from the original game

Even though CD Projekt RED remains super-buttoned on the new RPG Cyberpunk 2077 today come new information about the game by Mike Pondsmith , creator of the paper role playing game released in the late 80 's.

Pondsmith is to work together to create the CD Projekt team game, and is not simply a consultative role but is fully involved in all design decisions.

Questioned by website GameReactor on game's class system, Pondsmith explained that the title will be attending all classes (called Roles in Cyberpunk 2020 ) of the original game, which included types as the Reporter , the Corporate , the Rocker , the Killers , the Netrunner (hackers) and so on. If you are intrigued by this particular system of classes you can read more in this handy guide .

Each of these classes changed profoundly the skill set and the behavior of the characters in the game, so we can expect that it will be the same here: a sharp change from The Witcher , where the character played was the same for everyone and we could change their skill but only by remaining within the provisions for a Witcher . In short, it is highly likely that players can create very different characters this time, opening up great opportunities of replayability. This also means that the game will provide a number of different ways to solve the same situation: obviously a Netrunner will have different systems to achieve his goal than a Reporter .

Pondsmith suggests, however, that the choice of your class may not be immediate as in the original game (the player chose the class, handing out initial skill points between the features and was ready to play), but it was done differently and more engaging for the player.

We look forward to more news on Cyberpunk 2077 : stay tuned!
