Rumor: the devkit Project Scorpio are now under the 80% power, 100% in June

The always-informed site Windows Central today released new information about Project Scorpio received from their sources. The site explains that although the devkit for the new consoles have already been delivered to developers, we should take with a grain of salt any information about power of consoles that were leaked, because these do not use 100% of the power currently on the console.

The site has received information about the release schedule updates to the XDK -the set of development tools and system updates-expected over the months. As learned, the kits currently in possession of the developers use "much less" of 80% of the maximum power of the console; in may it planned to update that will lead them to exploit among 80 and 90% of the power, and only with an update of June developers will have the full power of 6 TFLOP . The site also States that in June the developers will start sending to Microsoft their games to the first steps of certification with a view to the output of the machine.

While this mechanism mainly developers, who will have to "take steps" a little at a time with the console, it is useful to keep in mind because if it leaked some benchmarks from devkit, we would know that it is not relative to the full power of the console.

In addition to this, the website also mentioned to an interesting feature of the console: as we now know, games for Xbox Project Scorpio will be the same One, but enriched with improved textures and effects console more powerful. Include in-game textures, clips and other assets to 4 k will inevitably grow the size of the games, and while this disk will not be a problem, it could become one for digital downloads on Xbox One: why compel an Xbox One player, that would not see the benefits of asset, to download many more GB than necessary? The solution to this lies in a particular system made available to developers, who can "mark" asset and other parts of the game as related specifically to Project Scorpio. This will ensure that those items will not be downloaded on Xbox One, making it more compact downloads than the "older sister". Of course all this is only valid for the games developed for One and Scorpio: those performed solely for One won't have differences but can still be noticed on Scorpio if they assume solutions like dynamic resolution.

The information ends here: come back soon for more updates on the new Microsoft console!
