Spencer: E3 is for games, Scorpio could be revealed first, other details

Xbox boss Phil Spencer attended tonight at the latest edition of the web show Unlocked, during which the conductors of the show have earned him several questions about Project Scorpio . Several interesting elements emerged during the chat.

First, Spencer wanted to reiterate during transmission that for him the E3 must be solely related to games, so I would not want to waste too much time talking about Project hardware Scorpio because lovers mainly to games. Although officially declared, his words reflected a willingness to reveal the console itself-and hardware-related. in a previous event, the fair in Los Angeles, so concentrate on games during the E3.

The manager then explained that the SOC (System On a Chip, the microprocessor that incorporates both CPU and GPU) of Scorpio is ready since last October, and that the team is far ahead of its time. This means that the Project team will dedicate more Scorpio console details and finishing on qualitative aspects. Speaking of VR further explained that, although Scorpio will support both the technology that the Mixed Reality, sees this kind of accessories as more suitable for PC environment.

Regarding expectations on sales, Spencer made it very clear that Microsoft is not creating Project Scorpio to " beat the box " and become the best selling Xbox: the manager is convinced that Xbox One S, with its lower price and a much larger target audience, will always remain the best selling console, but Scorpio will appeal to hardcore gamers, those who want the best performance and the best visual fidelity, even if it means spending a little more. Concerning the price has however reiterated that, albeit higher, remain at levels acceptable to the target audience.

An interesting hint also went to Microsoft Game Studios: Spencer explained that the company is currently engaged in "rebuild" and reorganize his studies first party, but we don't know what that means: may indicate acquisitions of new studies to be included in the team, or reorganization of existing ones. The closure of various studies made so far is part of this reorganization, and Spencer says it now thanks to this the company can reverse more first-party Studios, creating new titles and more mature. It also seems that Japanese developers are very interested in the console. We expect news about in the course of E3.
