Details and images from Gears of War's Horde 3.0 4

The site Windows Central posted a lengthy interview with the head of developing massively multiplayer Gears of War 4 Ryan Cleven, who revealed many interesting details about how Horde 3.0 in the game. Here are the most important information, followed by a set of images in the new mode.

Much of the interview was obviously the big news of this modality, namely the system of classes : Cleven explained that the team wanted to give players a chance to specialize to make the gameplay more tactical and encourage team play, but at the same time it wanted to limit the players only to specific sets of weapons. The five classes of Horde 3.0 (sniper , Scout, soldier, heavy and engineer ) can then use all the weapons available in the game, but each of them will have the skills that make them more effective with specific weapons or in certain situations. For example the sniper has a set of skills that facilitate obtaining headshot and the use of rifles, but if the situation warrants can still use an assault rifle or pump.

Obtaining the skill will work instead with a card system. At the beginning of each match all players start at level 1 and have access to a single " ability card ", but as you advance in level will go up and match can use up to 5 cards of about 11 among which you can choose. At the beginning of the game, each class will have a certain number of cards available to use in the match, but as we play we will gain useful credits to buy new Horde Packages containing other cards that we can decide to include in the "bunch" to be used in subsequent matches.

Unlike the cards REQ Halo, though, these cards do not give access to objects or means, but to skills that can be both permanent and temporary; for example, the Scout could activate a card that allows him to gain more energy for use in fortifications (lower than speak better), while the sniper might enable some that allow him to inflict more damage or reload faster with sniper rifles. As we climb, we can use more powerful cards, such as Strike (attack), that will allow us to unleash powerful attacks capable of destroy all enemies on the field as the Mortar Attack or attack hammer of dawn. Each class can use obviously only cards relating thereto, then the Scout will never use cards designed for the sniper. We discover that the different classes have no aesthetic differences: a Marcus Fenix sniper will be equal to a Heavy Marcus Fenix. Will only change the type of skills available to them.

The discussion then moves to the Fabricator , the new system designed to build our defenses on the field. At the beginning of each match a crate Fabricator will be released in the middle of the field, and players can pick it up and move it wherever they want. It will then spend some energy, obtained by killing enemies, to build towers, fortifications and barriers to be placed wherever they want in the field of play. And this will always do it at any time of the match, not only in the waiting time between rounds and the other during the fighting.

All defenses created with the Fabricator can also be taken and moved after being placed, and you can even place them on top of each other; by superimposing three or more you can create barriers such as high walls, think maybe to create a funnel that directs the enemies to a point where we have placed a machine gun turret. The enemies, especially those larger and more powerful, will be able to compromise and break down our defenses, so we will have to devise tactics to get them out before they can knock them down, for example by placing a sniper to kill from a distance.

Another novelty is the Armory (Weapons Locker), a point in which we can position the weapons that we don't use anymore, maybe because we're out of Ammo, rather than discard them. When the Armory, the weapons you will little by little over time and then return later to use them.

That's all for now: we leave you to new images referring to the coming days for more info on Gears of War 4 !
