Dishonored 2: new details and photos from QuakeCon

During QuakeCon held tonight, the Creative Director of Arkane Studios Harvey Smith revealed several new details about the long-awaited sequel to the Dishonored 2 , excellent stealth game released years ago. We learn more about the new system of power, freedom of play and find great locations all below along with new shots of the game. Happy reading and enjoy!

Powers revisited

Although the original Raven's powers have come back, have been expanded and strengthened. An expedition to high dust district chaos revealed that the fight continues to be brutal, but also as Crow now have new tools.

It all starts with transfer, the famous navigation power of Raven. A first look at Translation shows us exactly what we expected: first, Corvo teleports from the ground up to the balcony of a building in which infiltrates, then teleports from a second-story window to channel up an alley. But Translation is not limited only to the movement. A few times, we see Raven use this power in a new and aggressive: to reach an enemy and cut his throat, or to lash out at an enemy, knocking it back with deadly force. The translation of Raven also includes improvements to freeze time and divert the jump already seen in the DLC the knife of Dunwall (nicknamed "Daud Translation" from the community and from YouTube) that cli gives more flexibility on transportation and stealth.

Similarly, distortion is enhanced with powerful new uses. At the beginning of the demo, we see Raven use this power as in the first Dishonored, slowing down the time to deal with a nest Keeper (a new and ominous enemy tied nests of flies). While the weather is practically stationary, Crow shoot both arms of the keeper with the gun, then extracts the crossbow to shoot an incendiary DART against a nest. When the time back to flow normally, the keeper of the nest wounded groans of pain, the nest is engulfed in flames ... and then the body of the keeper is torn, releasing a swarm of flies of the blood. Crow escapes from this dangerous blood, moving to a fly infestation through Possession (though not shown in the video, we know that Raven will strengthen Possession so you can switch from one host to another).

Distortion can also be improved so that Crow not only can completely stop the time (as in the first Dishonored), but can also do it slowly forward to trigger a sequence of events. Later in the demo, Crow is carrying the head passed out of shrieking, Paul, target of the mission. From a balcony above the street sees a screaming hostile. After stopping the time, Crow launches in the air Paul, who remains suspended while the killer jumps down to delete the Screaming. Then Raven advances the time far enough to bring the body of Paul at your fingertips, grasping it in midair before continuing on his way.

We also saw Distortion used strategically to clean up a yard from enemies, with Raven storm the crowd with narcotic and darts arsonists then delete the survivors in real time.

Even Tornado is back as a great way to throw back the enemy. Of course, Raven still has all his moves in combat and its tools, including cutting, which uses mines to disembowel a couple of Screaming. Even the sword and gun fight their way back to Raven's slashing, stabbing and shooting, eliminating enemies in the blink of an eye. Although the presentation was focused on new and deadly moves of Crow, also has an arsenal of non-lethal attacks, including strangulation, non-lethal and many more jumps, ideal for players who prefer a more quiet through Karnaca.

Although Smith is back in the district level of dust already seen at E3 2016, we witnessed a completely different way of dealing with the mission. Not to mention only the choice to use Raven instead of Emily.

Dishonored 2 will offer elements that made famous the planning of missions of Dishonored: various ways of finding and eliminating a target, the ability to tackle any obstacle so stealthy and lethal, not in combat or with any combination of these two aspects. However, this time each mission will have its own theme. In the case of the District of dust, Crow will have two targets: vice priest Byrne, the local chief of a faction of religious militants (the target chosen by Emily in the demo at E3), or the leader of the gang of shrieking, Paul. At QuakeCon, Raven chose Paul, thus revealing new areas inside and outside the hostile territory of Shrieking.

The most interesting place is perhaps the Crone's Hand Saloon, partially infested by flies of the blood. The keepers of the nest, who wander by protecting and taking care of the nests of the flies can be fearsome foes if provoked. Although the video showed an elevated approach to chaos, killing insects and the keepers of the nest, we even saw Raven overcome the nests with transfer without disturbing the flies, which will certainly be useful for those who prefer to skulk rather than fight.

Urban chaos

Another aspect shown in the demo of the QuakeCon is the charming interiors of buildings. Again, it was highlighted the verticality of Karnaca with impressive buildings surrounded on all sides. In addition to dizzying heights, the buildings themselves look hotter, just south of the Empire. Even in infested areas of the Crone's Hand Saloon, balzano immediately wrought-iron railings and elaborate gates. When Raven faces Paul in an outdoor courtyard, we can see a warm and pleasant: clay tiled roofs, Interior balconies and lush vegetation that climbs the columns, falling back from the railings decorated.

It is just a small taste of the new setting of the game, but shows a new and exciting hunting ground for enhanced powers of Crow ... as well as the bold vision of Arkane for Dishonored 2.

We leave you now with new screenshots of the game.
