In its latest Update on the development of Halo 5: Guardians , 343 Industries has shown the redesign received from covenant's best-known vehicles, that we find in the game with a familiar look but revised in several details. Developers explain that this restyling is justified by the events that take place in the universe of the game.

The team explains that " In Halo 5: Guardians, the Sangheili are involved in a massive civil war that is tearing apart their Sanghelios homeworld. In tumultuous times, Covenant and Sanghelios swords have reopened their armaments factories remained dormant for a long time, addressing the Allied colonies for the production of vehicles and weapons. "

We thus discover that Banshee has been updated with an energy shield in 360° and the Ghost was equipped with a "biomimetic carapace"; both vehicles, along with the Phantom and the Wraith, finally underwent several aesthetic finishes due to the particular sensitivity of the worlds in which they were produced.
