Rumor: AMD has designed a smaller chip for a possible Xbox slim version One

According to some ermerse information from LinkedIn profile of AMD engineer who has been involved in the design and production of the Xbox One SOC chip (which integrates both CPU GPU, as well as other components), it seems that the manufacturer of semiconductors has already designed and manufactured a version of the same chip with 20 nm technology, then smaller and smaller than current consumption, of 28 nm.

This new technology would allow Microsoft to build an Xbox version One that, while maintaining current performance, would have smaller size thanks to lower heat production, as well as being more economical because 20nm technology makes it possible to produce more chips per silicon wafer. However this is not anything new: all manufacturers of console hardware miniaturise while optimizing costs during the lifetime of their machines, so this makes us understand that even Xbox One will undergo a similar evolution.

For the moment there are confirmations from Microsoft, and to start and refine processes to produce a new model of the console, even if it is a revision of the previous one, it takes sometimes even one or two years, so it is possible that before the end of 2015 or 2016 we will not have a Xbox Slim One .
