Microsoft: investment on Gears of War for the next 10 years; the new game isn't a reboot

During a recent interview at IGN, the Xbox Division's boss, Phil Spencer, is back on the topic Gears of War , announcing that the new installment of the series, in the works for Xbox One studios, Black Tusk , it won't be a reboot.

"I wouldn't call it a reboot, because I don't think the franchise need not necessarily of this" said Spencer. "We are aware of the fact that Gears of War: Judgement has not affected the needs and desires of all in terms of what they wanted, but at the same time we are now working with a new team and we think we have the right to continue with this series. We have the opportunity to invest on this brand for the next 10 years, and this is precisely what we want to do. "

It therefore seems clear that Microsoft is continuing to go strong on Gears of War and intends to expand the original universe of the series do not make use of a reboot. We just have to wait, pending further information.
